Self Data Tracking
{ENG} The semester started and so the students’ work. The first phase of the course is about learning the concepts and theory behind visual communication. The final deliverable of this phase is making an infography of real data. The data that will be shown in the iconographies is self-collected data of each student (self-data tracking). They have to track data of one repetitive action they perform in their everyday life for one entire month. Particularly, this week’s exercise was making an analog prototype of their infography, so they can plan how to structure their infography, prove some visual codes and receive feedback, from their professors, TA’s and classmates.
{ESP} El semestre comenzó, al igual que el trabajo de los estudiantes, La primera fase del curso trata acerca de aprender los conceptos y teoría detrás de la comunicación visual. El entregable final de esta fase es hacer una infografía que muestre datos reales. Los datos son datos recopilados por cada estudiante (self-data tracking). La idea es recopilar datos acerca de algún comportamiento repetitivo que realicen en su día a día durante todo un mes. El ejercicio de esta semana fue hacer un prototipo análogo (infografía hecha a mano), de manera que los estudiantes pudieran estructurar su infografía, probar códigos visuales y recibir feedback de los profesores, ayudantes y compañeros de curso.
